Lunch at Bishop Gadsden

My grandparents moved into Bishop Gadsden a couple of years ago.  It is like a college campus for older folks.  They park their golf carts outside with their little dogs, go to the pub, swim in the pool and who knows what other kinds of activities.  I can't even begin to describe how funny/nice/gorgeous this retirement home is.  Every time I go in, their interior decorator has put new furniture and curtains in the lobby area.  I really would hire the same decorator to come to my house. 

About once a month we go there after church for Sunday lunch.  Talk about fine dining.  They have a buffet, carving station, build your own omelet station, dessert stations, bloody mary's, mimosas...you name it.  If you have never been there, here are a few pictures just to give you a taste of what it is like.

Pumpkin Carving with the Girls

Last night we got together and carved some pumpkins...here are the works of art.  Katie and I shared a pumpkin and carved a lab/golden retriever.  Her grandfather was the judge and voted ours the winner!  You can't tell in this picture but Beth's pumpkin is throwing up!

Treasures from the Attic

Over the weekend, I helped my parents clean out their attic.  Oh the things we found.  Here are a few gems we stumbled across.

First Fire of the Season in the Berge House

I know I know, I think the lowest it got this weekend at night was in the 60s, but I was freezing!  So we stopped by Lowes to get some wood and a starter log and built our first fire of the season.  I was a little toasty about an hour in, but it was worth it.  After growing up in Charleston, give me 100 degrees plus anyday, but the second it starts dropping below 70 degrees, bring out the jackets and start the fires.

Busy Fall Weekend

This weekend was full of fun times with friends and family.  Logan and Mark tied the knot here in Charleston!  We had such a good time at their rehearsal dinner and wedding!

Last week marked the 6th anniversary of my brother's passing.  Every year friends and family get together for a paddle out to remember him.  Below are pictures from previous years.
