You know how on cruises when you walk around, there are about 50 different set-ups for photo opts. They have the backgrounds to make you look like you are in Paris, or in a garden, or in front of a piano. Photographers are just standing there asking you every two seconds if you would like to have your picture taken. Well, we did! I can't believe I'm showing this. It makes me laugh out loud everytime I look at it. We were born to be models.

1 Year Anniversary
On Sunday, May 6, Chris and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary! Hard to believe! He surprised me with dinner at Magnolias and a night at the Andrew Pinckney Inn. They upgraded us to a two story suite!
I am so thankful for a sweet husband that takes care of me every day. I look forward to many more years ahead!

Bon Voyage
We are back from a nice relaxing cruise to the Bahamas. Well let's just say Freeport and Nassau were relaxing. Our 2 days at sea were quite rough. There were very few moments that we could not feel the boat moving. Good news is...if I made it through that weather, I think I can take on any other cruise.
We enjoyed our nightly dinners together. Highlights of the menu: Dave's strawberry soup aka strawberry yogurt and Tony and Phillip's chocolate melting cake ordered 5 nights in a row. Oh and the surprise of "Pillip's" birthday. Our waiter did the best he could to pronounce Phillip's name.
Beach time in Freeport
Highlight of the trip was definitely Atlantis. The water park was AMAZING. Chris and Phillip were like little kids panicking that they would not experience every slide in the limited amount of time we had there. Our day started out with a celebrity sighting.
Yes, that is Tony from Dancing with the Stars. Chris was embarrassed to admit that he did know who he was.
I was very proud of myself for going down the Leap of Faith slide. This picture does not even do it justice for how vertical the slide was. I was sort of scared I would lose my bathing suit going down, but it was worth the risk. You plunge into a tank full of sharks. Well not exactly, you are separated in a clear tunnel.
Atlantis is a place we plan on going back to and just staying for a few days. There are so many things we didn't get to experience because we only had a few hours. Phillip's goal of the day was to make it into the bridge part of Atlantis at the top. He was told you basically have to be a high roller to get up there. He couldn't understand why our blue wristband from the Carnival Fantasy ship was not enough. Don't they know who we are?!

Revisiting our High School Graduation Cruise!
In a matter of 1.5 days, 8 working adults (of which 2 of the couples have kids), managed to commit to a cruise to the Bahamas only 6 weeks away. Chris and I both went on this same ship to the Bahamas for our high school senior trip.
Sidenote: When Chris went, Atlantis wasn't even built yet :)
We plan on taking a picture in front of this scenic backdrop just as I did 8 years ago.
Going down this many times.
Watching a little bit of this (of which I have always secretly wanted to be a part of).
And enjoying this.
The part I am looking forward to the most (besides being in the company of great friends) is no phone, computer or email for 6 days. Everyone needs to take a break from technology every now and then!

Photobooth Fun
We went to Rachel and Nick's wedding last Friday and had so much fun! One of our favorite parts was the photobooth. They had all kinds of props and costumes you could wear. We kept it simple with our hats representing our college football teams. Enjoy our weirdness...
Now if I can only get my hands on mom and dad's photobooth picture...

Get Down...top dancing wedding pics!
I have to say that with a Friday night wedding you never know how much guests will be able to let loose and dance after either traveling all day to get into town or working all day. Well boy did they dance...and sing solos with the band...and play the tambourine. I think music is one of the most important parts of a wedding and will either make or break the party. We had the greatest band, Loose Chain. Here are some of my favorite shots from the night!
Baby Cate got the party started! |
Please take note of my 85 year old grandmother front and center |
I had to admit the guys dominated the dance off |
This is what happens when they leave their kids for the weekend |

A Loyal Soccer Fan
Note: Chris was not a big fan of me starting this blog because he felt like it was putting too much of our personal life out there. So I'm curious as to what he will say when he sees I posted pictures of him playing soccer :)
He is part of a soccer league in Charleston and they have their games every Sunday. I am proud to say I make most games and am a loyal fan. They have only lost one game. Chris has scored 2 goals and many assists he makes sure to point out. Tony - what is your count up to now?
I had to be real discreet in taking these pictures because I didn't want to look like the psycho picture wife sitting in my Georgia tailgate chair on the sidelines.
